  • Setting
  • " giant rocks with razor edges crouch like a sea monster with wide open jaws," (Connell 28).
  • " The old charts call it ship-trap island.." (Connell 19).
  • Exposition
  • Rising Action
  • "I am General Zaroff." (Connell 23)
  • The setting starts on a yacht. It focuses more when he lands on ship trap island. The island is very big with many trees and has rough waters and sharp rocks uprising from the ocean, which causes many ship wrecks.
  • Climax
  • The exposition would be when they are on the boat talking about the island and talking about their hunting trip, which they are traveling too.
  • Falling Action
  • Rainsford fell off the yacht, swam to the island where he heart gun shots, discovered a mansion and met General Zaroff, a great hunter.
  • Resolution
  • Rainsford finds out he is a human hunter and that General Zaroff is planning on hunting him. He sets off into the woods to hide from the general. "... put distance between himself and General Zaroff." (Connell 31)
  • Rainsford tricks him in many ways and causes General Zaroff to find him. "... if you are within the sound of my voice, let me congratulate you. Not many men know how to make a Malay man catcher." (Connell 33)
  • Rainsford jumped in the ocean but swam back and went to the castle to get revenge on General Zaroff.
