The Temperance Movement
The Temperance Movement began around 1820. The purpose was to help limit the amount of alcohol everyone drank.
Annie Wittenmyer, Frances Willard, and Carrie Nation created the Temperance-reform movement with outstanding leadership.
The 18th Amendment stated that it would ban the sale and drinking of alcohol in the U.S in 1919 but it proved to be a huge failure.
