  • All of my friends are dead!
  • The February Revolution, 1917
  • Does anyone here actually know how to run a country as big as Russia?
  • Nope.
  • Bolshevik Revolution/October Revolution, 1917
  • You cannot make a revolution in white gloves.
  • Russia was probably the most ill-prepared country in WW|. The Russo-Japanese War showed that the number of people in your country didn't mean you were always going to win if it was large. Russia lost around 15% of its population in WW|.
  • Russian Civil War, 1918-1919
  • Soldiers, just a bit more and then we'll beat them.
  • Czar Nicholas lost power, the Duma is re-established and placed in charge of ruling Russia but has no real power.
  • Industrial & Agricultural Reforms of Stalin, 1928
  • I expect way more from this farm! Oh, by the way, you no longer own it either.
  • Lead by Vladimir Lenin, the Bolsheviks seize power in Russia, eliminating private property and making peace with Germany.
  • Stalin's purges, 1934

  • Reds vs Whites - the Reds kill Czar Nicholas || and defeat the White Army, consolidating power under Lenin and the Bolshevik party.
  • Stalin takes power, moves towards Totalitarianism: rapid industrialization with high and unrealistic demands, state owned farms replace private ones.
  • Stalin purges government of all who are opposed to him or threaten his power.
