  • Good or bad, black or white, night or day. Do you know, at the top of the world the twilight is six months long?
  • It's still not too late. Why can't you admit you're wrong? There's a law against what you did and everybody says what you did is bad!
  • Ever give your pupils a snap-quiz on existence? About where we came from, where we are?
  • You make it sound as if the defendant is a hero. I'd like to think that, but I can't. A schoolteacher is a public servant: I think he should do what the law and the school-broad want him to. 
  • All the answers to those questions are in the Bible.
  • I care a great deal about him. I care a great deal about what he thinks!
  • The man you love is a good man. And it takes strength for a woman to love such a man .
  • You don't care anything about the young man! You just want a chance to make speeches against the Bible!
