Macbeth and his wife both seemed to get away with the murder of King Duncan. However, they were not dealing well with the reality of what they'd done; Macbeth had started seeing ghosts and Lady Macbeth was roaming the halls scrubbing imaginary blood from her hands.
Macbeth realises that Banquo does not trust him and remembers the prophecy of Banquo's child becoming the heir to the throne. Determined to be king, Macbeth decides to hire 2 bounty hunters to kill Banquo and his son Fleance.
Who are you?!?
The two bounty hunters ambushed the two targets, but were confused by the arrival of yet another bounty hunter that they had not been informed of. Due to this distraction, they managed to kill Banquo, but Fleance had managed to escape.
Fleance is escaping! Someone stop him!
Hecate- the goddess of witchcraft- is furious at the witches for meddling with Macbeth's life and orders them to make Macbeth think he is invincible, in order for him to be destroyed.
Your time shall come when Birnham Forest comes to you...
The witches tell Macbeth to beware of Macduff, who was planning his invasion on Scotland along with Malcolm, and that he could not be killed by anyone born of woman. He also asks about Banquo's future, and they tell him that they see a line of never-ending kings.
Kill them all! If he plans to attack me, he shall have another thing coming.
Macbeth becomes aggravated and orders his men to attack Macduff's castle and kill everyone inside it. Meanwhile, a doctor is called to help Lady Macbeth with her sleepwalking, who overheard her talking about murder and washing blood off her hands, but doesn't say anything.
