  • If Ala al-Din had been a cat, he ought to have been drowned at birth, for he was bad from his nose to his kneecaps. One day when Ala al-Din was relaxing a black dwarf came up to up him saying that he was his uncle. He said that he would get him a job and education.
  • Hello grandson! I shall turn you into a real man.
  • Ala al-Din's "uncle" locks Ala al-Din in a dark cave where he found the lamp. While he thinking about dying of hunger he accidentally rubs the ring which his "uncle" gave to him. The slave of the ring comes out.
  • All of this for NOTHING! I was meant to get the lamp, not that miserable wretch!
  • I am the slave of the ring. What do you want master?
  • Ala al-Din, feeling quite lucky, decides to try to sneak a look at the rumored beauty of the Kings daughter, Badr al-Budur. He immediately falls in love with her. Using the magic of the lamp he sends many gifts to the princess and hopes to marry her.
  • The black dwarf regains power by obtaining the magical lamp and spiriting Ala al-Din's palace of 1000 windows and Ala al-Din's wife to a far away place in the desert.
  • Ala al-Din! Save me!
  • He is dead! Foolish princess, I will be your new husband!
  • Ala al-Din, using his magic conjurors box, thinks up a plan yo save his beloved Badr al-Budur. He will trick the black dwarf into thinking that the princess loves him. Then make him go to sleep using sleeping powder.
  • I am coming, my love. I have came up with a plan to save you.
  • Ala al-Din asks the ifrit if he would like to be freed from his prison. The ifrit then says yes and swallows the lamp. He is now a free being.
  • Would you like to be free ifrit?
  • Why yes master, that would make me very happy.
