in this presentation you will learn about the three Chinese philosophies and the zou dynasty. the zhou dynasty lasted from 1045 to 256 B.C.E.
the zhou dynasty thought they had the right to rule china because they received the mandate of heaven. they overtook the shang dynasty and established a system called feudalism. feudalism helped stabilize the government. but around 700 B.C.E the system was falling apart. the kings got more ambitious and more greedy of his power.
confucianism greatly influenced the chinese culture and government. the goal was to achieve a just and peaceful society. this teaching emphasizes proper behavior. the founder was named confucius he lived from 551 to 479 B.C.E. civil servants were normal sons of nobals but now they can take a servay to be one.
doaism was the second teaching this taught people to write and imagine. also it tells people to live in harmony
legalism taught people that others were naturally selfish. people said kings should enforce strict laws and punish civil servants harshly if they did a poor job. people who criticize the government were to be banished.
now you know the three great philosophies of china. also you learned about how they constructed and unified the government of china.
