  • Sir, why are we shooting at our own people I have family there I don't want them to get hurt

  • I received orders from President Andrew Jackson to shoot S.C if the secede from the Union
  • Are you a run-away or free slave
  • Your coming with us right now
  • Dad What's going on I'm scared?
  • Who do you think you are touching me saying that i'm an escaped slave from the south. I have documents saying that I'm a free man right here. My master took me to Ohio and freed me and my son. That's in the Co
  • These documents doesn't have a judge's signiture
  • Missouri wanted to become a slave state but that would make representation in the U.S. government unequal. So the Union admitted Maine as a free state to make representation equal. After this they created the 36 30 line that decided if it was a free or slave state. If it's above it it's a free state and below it's a slave state.
  • You Get A Say In What You Want
  • Are you guys crazy we want a slave state they'll do our work
  • Based on this we have now the ability to vote since we are in Nebraska if to be either a free or slave state. This is called the Kansas-Nebraska Act
  • Well, it's about time I hate slavery there should be no slavery at all let's be a free state
  • South Carolina refused to accept tariffs and threatened to secede from the Union. But, Andrew Jackson was able to stop them from doing that by threatening that he would attack South Carolina if they seceded. Luckly they didn't leave
  • Arguments about Slavery and States' right
  • They are having a debate over states right and slavery. Ever since the Dred Scottś case there has been a lot of tension between the North and South. They need their privacy now please move or you will be moved even if force is needed
  • In 1850 California wanted to become a free state but that wouldn't make the free and slave states equal. In return, they would capture all fugitive slaves and return them to the south even free slaves were taken to the south. Georgia approved the compromise of 1850 and wanted their slaves returned to them so this was there platform about the Compromise of 1850.
  • Election of 1860
  • Thank you everyone that voted for me I came here to tell that 11 southern slave states have seceded the Union just because I was elected president
  • Alexander Stephens was the vice-president of the Confederate states of America he had a lot of political background. He was a governor, U.S. congressman, and also the Senator of GA. The Kansas-Nebraska act was in 1854 this process allowed people in the Nebraska and Kansas to vote if it was either a slave or free state. This was used to help people have a say in things for this only opportunity.
  • Dred Scott was a slave that filed a lwasuit to fight for his freedom. When he went to the supreme court they said that since he was a slave he didn't have the right to sue. This caused the nation to have more disagreements about slavery and states' rights. This caused more than usual tensions between the north and the south. That made more reasons for there to be freedom for slaves. This involved states´ right because there were more free states than slave states which the southerns didn´t like.
  • Whatś going on here?
  • 11 states seceded from the Union just because of the election of 1860 when Abraham Lincoln became president of the United States. The reason is many of the states feared that Lincoln would abolish slavery in the south and the south relied deeply on slaves. In Georgia many people didn´t want to secede from the union because they knew this was illegal but the general assembly had voted 208 to 89 to secede from the union.
