In the story, the Scarlet Ibis Aunt Nicey is seen as a Static character. With unwavering opinions, she stands strong in what she believes in. When Doodle name was being changed she was against it because of her strong religious values.
I think Doodle is a better name for the baby rather than William Armstong.

Babies should be treated with respect since they might turn out to be saints.
Throughout the short story Aunt Nicey saw to be an unchanging character with strong views. She believed that William was a better name for the child and that they were going to regret this.
