Long ago, before the age of Dubstep and Techno, there were the four supreme beings of music: the First, the Third, the Fifth, and the Eighth. For an eternity, the Four sang in unison in the lightless, endless deep about them.
The Eighth became tired of the same old sound, and raised her voice higher, becoming the Octave. The Third did so as well, and became the Mediant. Lastly, the Fifth raised her strong voice also, becoming the Dominant.
The First understood their need to change, so he became the Tonic, thus creating the first major chord. They saw it was good, so they made a realm where the sound could always exist: Earth. It was set among stars.
Then, the council moved their voices three more times, which first ravaged the earth, then created plant life, and lastly formed the creatures
Gazing upon their creation, the council felt something was still missing: a creature to sing like them. They dug their hands into the sand and sang their song. Figures emerged, swaying their bodies to the music.
The creatures were named Men. The Tonic told them: "Sing our song, and you will be forever happy." They promised to do so, and went on making every song with the four chords, thus pop music was created.
