Alexander Hamilton was the Secretary of the Treasury. He had many duties.
One of the biggest challenges he had was paying off the national debt from the Revolutionary War
Besides national debt, there was also state debt and many other factors to creating the new nation.
Federalists, antifederalists, southerners, and northerners argued about various different topics.
But what about national debt?
There shall be no bondholders!
They argued about bonds, bondholders and speculators.
They argued about how to pay state debt, not just national debt.
But what about the other states?
Virginia does not have state debt!
They also argued about how strong the goverment was to be.
Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson were very argumentative too.
