What are plate tectonics?
Plate tectonics is the theory that there are continental plates that move on Earth.
There are also directions that show how plates move!
There are three types!
They are convergent, divergent, and transform!
A divergent boundary is when two plates move apart from each other. They create rifts and oceans.
A convergent boundary is when two plates collide into each other! They create mountains.
Hooray for Plate Tectonics!
A transform plate boundary is when they slide against each other. This creates earthquakes.
