Storyboard Text

  • "I shut my eyes. Judge Taylor was polling the jury: 'Guilty... guilty...guilty...guilty...' I peeked at Jem: his hands were white from gripping the balcony rail, and his shoulders jerked as if each 'guilty' was a separate stab between them"(Lee 240). This shows Social Inequality because even though Tom Robinson didn't actually rape and hit Mr.Ewell's daughter, the judge said guilty anyways because he was black.
  • " 'That's what I thought,' said Jem,'but around here once you have a drop of Negro blood, that makes you all black.' "(Lee 184). This shows social inequality because that goes to show that even if your not black yourself but you talk to someone that's a different color, that makes you automatically black too.
  • " '...Atticus, when they finally saw him, why he hadn't done any of those things... Atticus, he was real nice...' His hands were under my chin, pulling up the cover, tucking it around me. 'Most people are, Scout, when you finally see them.' "(Lee 323). This is Social Inequality because it reflects on the trail and just racism in general and to not judge a book by its cover. Because even though there are different colored people, they are still the same as us.
