Earth formed from a hot mix of gases and solids. 5 BYBP
Earth went through outgassing of vapor and gases from Earth's interior. This created a thick atmosphere around the planet. 4.5 BYBP
Oceans were formed from the condensation of water vapor. All of the water vapor condensed into the world's hydropshere. 4 BYBP
Blue-green algae began photosynthesis. It created oxygen and decreased the amount of carbon dioxide. 1 BYBP
Oxygen molecules split into single oxygen atoms after they absorbed the sun's UV rays. These atoms then formed with remaining oxygen and formed ozone. The ozone layer is what protects humans from the harmful UV rays.
The ozone layer regulated the temperature on Earth and animals and humans were able to finally survive on Earth.
