Storyboard Text

  • Exposition- In Friar Lawrence's cell, Paris is telling him about the arrangements of his marriage with Juliet until Juliet enters the cell and Paris is asked to leave. After Paris leaves, Juliet expresses she doesn't want to marry him, so Friar Lawrence comes up with a plan to fake her death so she can be with Romeo.
  • Fake thy death to be with Romeo
  • I do not love Paris
  • Rising Action- Juliet agrees to the plan so Friar gives her the sleeping potion. When she gets home, she tells her parents she will marry Paris, and this gets them cheerful so they keep preparing for the wedding. At night Juliet is in her bedchamber deciding whether she should take the potion, but then decides to drink it.
  • What if Friar is untrustworthy but I will drink it because of my love for Romeo
  • Conflict- The main conflict in Act 4 is Juliet's internal struggle to decide whether she wants to risk her life for Romeo by taking the potion or to not drink the potion and marry a man she does not love.
  • Romeo???
  • Paris???
  • Climax- Early the next morning while wedding preparation were going on, Lady Capulet sends the Nurse to wake Juliet. The Nurse finds Juliet "dead," and Friar convinces them she is gone. This completes the first stage of the plan.
  • JULIET IS DEAD!
  • Falling Action- Friar urges everyone in the house to get ready for Juliet's funeral, and with sorrow and grief they agree and exit. Peter, the Capulet servant, stays behind to ask the musicians to play a happy tune, but they did not feel it was appropriate. This causes Peter to insult the musicians and leave. The musicians decide to wait so they can eat the lunch that will be served.
  • Worthless excuse for a musician. I petty thy fool
  • Conclusion- As a result of Juliet taking the potion, the first stage of Friar Lawrence's plan is complete. The marriage has been cancelled and everyone believes Juliet is dead besides Friar Lawrence. Shows how love will make people do crazy things for one another.
  • HAHA Thy plan was a success!
