Storyboard Text

  • A Story of love and Tragedy
  • Two households both alike in dignity. In fair Verona where we lay our scene. A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life, Doth with their death bury their parents' strife. The which if you with patient ears attend, What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend.
  • One fight determines all
  • I do but keep the peace.
  • If ever you disturb the peace again, your lives will pay the price.
  • What, drawn and talk of peace? I hate the word. As i hate hell, all Montagues, and thee. Have at thee coward.
  • Talk of love.
  • Compare her face with some that i shall show, And i will make thee think thy swan a crow
  • Nay, he's a flower. In faith a very flower
  • This is the prologue where the story of Romeo and Juliet is explained. Shakespeare tells the story in advance but still entertains his audience.
  • Prince Paris
  • The valiant Paris seeks you for his love.
  • This is the first scene where servant men on both the Capulet and Montague sides start to fight. Benvolio trys to stop the fight, who is apart of Montague, but Tybalt, a Capulet, stirs more trouble. But the Prince stops everyone, threatening death to anyone who fights again.
  • If love be rough with you, be rough with love; Prick love for pricking and you beat love down.
  • This wind you talk of blows us from ourselves: Supper is done and we shall come too late.
  • This is scene two where Romeo talks of love and how much he longs for fair Rosaline. But instead, Benvolio tells Romeo to go the party at the Capulets house and compare Rosaline to all the other woman.
  • Good pilgrim, you do wrong your hand too much, which mannerly devotion shows in this; for saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch, and palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss.
  • This is scene three, where we meet Juliet who is coming of age to marry. The fair Prince Paris asks for her hand but the king, her father, throws a party for the two to meet and fall in love. Only problem, Juliet doesn't want to marry yet.
  • Ill look to like, if looking liking more. But no more deep will I endart mine eye than your consent gives strength to make it fly
  • During scene four, Mercutio, Romeo, and Benvolio decide to sneak into the Capulet's party. Romeo still has no heart to party because of Rosaline. But the boys convince Romeo to have fun and look with unjudging eyes.
  • And we mean well in going to this masque, but tis' no wit to go.
  • As the party begins, Tybalt notices Romeo and his friends but the king doesn't want trouble because of what the prince said before about anymore fighting. So, Romeo ends up seeing Juliet and believing that he never loved till that day. They meet, and intimately fall in love.
  • Then move not, while my prayer's effect I take. Thus from my lips, by thine, my sin is purged.
