Storyboard Text

  • I need to redecorate the library ;the bookshelves need to be renewed.
  • I'm not exactly sure but just ask for the the most suitable wooden shelf for light books and the most suitable one for heavy books.
  • Melissa, what are the best bookshelves to buy?
  • What type of wooden shelves would you recommend for light books and which ones would you recommend for heavy books?
  • Well, I recommend buying the Pine wood bookshelves for your light books which are 25 $ per shelf and the Red Oak wood bookshelves for your heavy books which are 60$ per shelf.
  • Why is there such a big price difference between the two wooden shelves?
  • That is because the Pine wood is the most popular and affordable wood in the market and it is great for handling light objects but not heavy ones. However, the Red Oak wood is known for its heavy duty as it is sturdy, strong, and meant for heavy objects.
  • All these 10 new shelves that you just bought look fantastic ! How much did they cost?
  • I bought a total of 10 bookshelves      and spent a total of 390$. Anyways, I have to go teach a class now.
  • If Max bought a total of 10 bookshelves and spent 390$, how many bookshelves did Max buy of each type and how much did she spend on each type?
  •                 No worries, I'll use inverse matrices to figure it out.
