Storyboard Text

  • The Narrator tries to explain why he isn't crazy, Even though he killed a man. This is where the Narrator denies he is sick. He also begins his story here.
  • I'm not crazy, It was just his eye that vexed me!
  • Exposition
  • The Narrator is having two conflicts. The first conflict he has is a man vs man conflict because the narrator wants to get rid of the eye. the second is man vs self because the Narrator has to deal with his insanity.
  • Conflict
  • I must rid myself of that eye!
  • The Narrator sneaks into the old man's room every day for eight days. the old man wakes up and the narrator shines a light in his eye. The old man is scared and his heartbeat angers the narrator.
  • Rising Action
  • The Climax is when the Narrator kills the old man by suffocating him. The Narrator flipped the mattress over the old man's head, which caused the suffocation. A neighbor hears the old man's distress and calls the cops
  • Climax
  • The cops arrive and the Narrator invites them in. They talk for a little while. The Narrator becomes more and more uneasy, because he thinks he can hear the old man's heartbeat, even though the old man is dead.
  • Falling Action
  • The Narrator confesses that he killed the old man. He did this because he thought he could hear the old man's heartbeat,and it finally got to him. Then, the Narrator was arrested.
  • Resolution
  • Arrest him!
  • I confess! look beneath the floor boards!
