In 638, Wu Zhao arrived at the court at the young age of 13.
In 690, Wu Zhao seized power (not emperor yet).
In 673, Wu Zhao helped pay for the construction of a large statue resembling Buddha.
In 685, Wu Zhao had her advisor (Xue Huaiyi) appointed as head of a well-known Buddhist temple. He later claimed to find a religious text explaining the prediction od a goddess that would come to rule China.
In 690, she reached the age of 65 and declared herself emperor. With this old age, she began to lose her judgement. Bribery, corruption, and other horrible things started to happen in China.

Lastly, in February of 705, the palace was seized by leading ministers and generals. The day after, Wu Zhao retired and gave up the throne.
