This storyboard does not have a description.
1."I continued,as was my won't, to smile in his face, and he did not perceive that my smile now was at the thought of his immolation"(Poe,1st page). -The narrator takes great joy in the thought of Fortunato's death, which can come to show how badly he wants to seek out his revenge on Fortunato.
2. "...Fortunato possessed himself of my arm. Putting on the mask of black silk and drawing a roquelaire closely about my person..."(Poe, page 3). -The setting can make you believe even more that Fortunato is going to die, it enhances the tone to make the narrators wish for revenge even stronger since they are both masked, hidden and disguised.
"You are a man to be missed. For me it is no matter. We will go back; you will be ill, and i cannot be responsible..."(Poe, page 4).
The fact that the narrator states that he doesn't want to be responsible for Fortunato's death makes it even more ironically enticing that he instead kills him. This can also play along with his revenge taking over, for if he had no revenge to seek out he wouldn't have said that
"A succession of loud and shrill screams, bursting suddenly from the throat of the chained form, seemed to thrust me violently back...Unsheathing my rapier, I began to grope with it about the recess..."(Poe, page 7). -This shows that 1. The narrator was ready to kill Fortunato for screaming and 2.That he took his revenge so far as to make Fortunato scream while he is tied to the wall by chains.
