On December 7, 1941 Pearl Harbor had a surprise military strike by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor on Hawaiian Territory in the morning.
Soon after the attack on Pearl Harbor, the United States declared that the were at war with Japan . This lead to them to put all the Japanese-Americans in interment camp because they were afraid that they were secret spies from Japan. The military went to every Japanese house and told them that they had to sell their stuff and pack some of their belongings .
In the interment camps , families were put in rooms that they would divide with sheets because they had no privacy . They had very little to no medical care, malnutrition, poor pay and poor housing .
Japan was asked to surrender but they didn't want to because they didn't want to seem weak . That's when they United States told them that they had a deadly weapon and they dropped the first atomic bomb . Japan still didn't surrender .
When the second bomb was dropped on Japan that was when the finally surrendered and the United States told the emperor that he had to told the people of japan that he wasn't a god or god like.
After the atomic bomb was dropped the people of Japan were severely injured and some were dead. The radiation from the bomb still affects people today . Some of the babies are born with birth defects and some of the people even got cancer.
