Storyboard Text

  • sometimes my words come out angry with the writer, notes all over the page with my tiny black words. My notes show that I am angry and confused with writers for example Kierkegaard or Connor Cruise O'Brien if only I could talk to you guys.
  • The thoughts I think are "this is nonsense" once I remember looking up from reading and trying to imagine what this one person looked like from the book The Life of Emily Dickinson.
  • I noticed that students are more modest as they read, leaving a simple mark on the page. Words like "metaphor" show up by the stanzas of Eliots and more in A Modest Proposal.

  • If you have already graduated from college and have never ever annotated a book with the words Man vs Nature do it now
  • All of us have annotated a book before. We have reached for a pen before, we do not just sit down and flip pages. We put some thought into what we are reading and we write down thoughts in the margins.
  • There's this one thing I think of the most, its almost like a locket that is special. In the book Catcher in the Rye, which I borrowed from my local library in highschool. The thoughts I was thinking were so vast as I continued reading one page.
  • As I continue reading I imagine fans cheering and shouting "Absolutely!" to Duns Scotus and James Baldwin. I see check marks, asterisks, and exclamation points all over the page
  • Even Irish monks write things in the pages of the Gospel. Things like the idea of copying or even a bird singing outside a window. These people imagine the future.
  • Seriously, you have not really read Joshua Reynolds until you have seen books covered with the furious looking scribbles along the page.
  • On one page you cannot believe what I found. I found a few greasy stains and words that were very faint but my instincts told me it was probably by a very beautiful girl. The words were "Pardon the egg salad stains but I'm in love"
