  • The Novel begins at the CENTRAL LONDON HATCHERY AND CONDITIONING CENTRE, A building that ppears to be frightening the second you lay eyes upon it.  "A harsh thin light glared through the windows,  bleakly shining porcelain of a laboratory" (Huxley 1)
  • The Director of Hatchery is explaining the process of Producing Human Embryo' as the embryos travel along a conveyer belt through the factory,Each belonging to 1 of 5 Different Castes (Alpha Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon)
  • The Alphas Are destined to be the leaders and Thinkers  of the world State. They Are at the Top of all the castes 
  • Betas are the 2nd  highest caste. They interact with alphas and aren't looked down upon as much as the lower castes
  • Gammas are the average caste. They have alcohol in their blood  but not as much as the lower castes. 
  • Delta's Are mass produced. They are genetically created twins often. The lack individuality and work the worst jobs.
  • Espillons are mass produced, They cant'tread or write & are the lowest caste. They are looked upon like morons
  • John's conflict with the society of the new world is his first experience with the batches of lower caste children who visit the hospital to become desensitized to death.

  • The climax occurs when John and Mustapha Mond disagree on his assertion that way of life is Community, Identity, Stability. John does not believe this is correct

  • John represents the individual, He realizes he cannot follow the lifestyles of the World State, Completing Mond's experiment, John kills himself
