Storyboard Description

King Claudius addresses his royal court after the tragedy of King Hamlet´s death. Newly wedded to his sister in law he makes preparations to be ready for an attack from Norway. Hamlet however deals with the anger and betrayal he feels towards the wedding of his uncle and mother.

Storyboard Text

  • We must not dwell over the death of my brother, the late King, but rejoice in the marriage of my sister in law and I and not show our weakness to Norway!
  • I want to go back to france!
  • Cornelius and Voltemand, go to Norway and tell on young Fortinbras, he has been threatening Denmark, his uncle will set him straight. As for you Laertes, as long as it's okay with your father.
  • Hamlet, my son, it's time to stop wearing black and moping around. Your father wouldn't have wanted this.
  • Sorry mom but some of us need time to heal rather than just pretending to be sad.
  • King Claudius gives a speech to his court
  • It is sweet that you mourn for your father but he is gone now. I hope you will accept me as your new father figure and stay here, do not go back to Wittenberg yet.
  • Please stay.
  • I will stay for you, mother.
  • Claudius sends Voltemand and Cornelius to Norway and Laertes asks for leave to return to France
  • Oh how I wish I was not related to my mother, the woman who betrayed my father only a month after his death... She is so weak! My uncle and my mother's marriage is incest!
  • Queen Gertrude, Hamlet's mother and King Claudius, tell Hamlet to get over his father's death 
  • We have seen a ghost! He is your father!
  • Meet me on the platform between eleven and twelve, I want to see this for myself.
  • Claudius and Gertrude ask Hamlet no to go back to Wittenberg and to stay at the castle 
  • Hamlet expresses his feelings of anger and betrayal towards his mother
  • Horatio, Marcellus and Barnardo tell Hamlet about the ghost of his father
