  • In 1505, in Germany, Martin Luther was a lawyer but suddenly got struck by lightning. This made Luther become a monk.
  • The Catholic Church believed that the selling of indulgences would grant you into heaven.
  • In 1517, Martin Luther posted the 95 theses on the church door of Wittenberg, Germany. This was to prove that the Catholic Church was wrong about selling indulgences.
  • In 1521, Luther was summonded to the "Diet of Worms." The Diet of Worms is the council deciding the fate of Luther.
  • In 1522, Martin Luther published the bible which was in Latin to German for all of the people to read. 
  • In 1546, Martin Luther dies from a stroke.
