  • We surrender.
  • The Battle of Yorktown took place during the period of September 28, 1781- October 09, 1781. Again, the Redcoats against the Patriots and French.his mainly took place in Yorktown, VA. Nearby Places included Williamsburg, Wilmington, NY, Philadelphia, and the Chesapeake Bay. The Patriots leaders were George Washington, Comte de Rochambeau, and Comte de Grasse. The reason why the French joined often because the British held another war at France, so they joined the Redcoats.
  • The French General Comte de Rochambeau and Patriot General Washington planned to trick the Redcoats and General Clinton, by pretending to arrange a battle in New York. Secretly, they trapped them in Yorktown. By the end of Sept 1781, there was a massive army combining French and Patriots at Williamsburg. When Cornwallis found out, he immediately asked for reinforcements, which didn’t come on time.
  • Than, he lost hope and surrendered his army and himself. The Patriots and French won this battle overall. This battle was important because it was the final point where the Patriots and the French surrendered the British in Yorktown and it was the last battle of the American Revolution. The Patriots fought for a cause, and finally got what they wanted.
