Owl Eyes in the Library
Nick Finally Meets Gatsby
Jay Gatsby or James Gatz
Owl Eyes is a character that is very wise and trustworthy so when he says “Absolutely real—have pages and everything” Nick starts to wonder why the books wouldn’t be real (Fitzgerald 45).
As Nick starts to give up looking for Gatsby he begins talking to this man who turns out to be Gatsby. As he looks at him he smiled, “one of those rare smiles with a quality of external reassurance in it, that you may come across for or five times in life” and then Nick came back to reality (Fitzgerald 48).
When Gatsby gets jealous of Tom he then tells Nick the story of Dan Cody "because Jay Gatsby had broken up like glass against Tom's hard malice" and how he made up his name (Fitzgerald 148).
