Reverend Paris catches Abigail dancing
Betty is getting checked for illness
Abigail, along with her cousin, Betty, and Tituba, Parris's slave, were dancing in the woods around a fire.
Parris, hiding in the bushes, discovers Abigail, Betty an Tituba dancing in the forest outside of salem at midnight. Once Betty saw her father, she suddenly fell and lost consciousness.
Doctor Griggs finds no cause to Betty’s illness, and Susan tells Reverend Paris that it could be witchcraft, but he denies the possibility. Everyone is now convinced that the dancing in the woods was witchcraft.
