  • We'll tell you! Who is involved in direct democracy Jobo? And in Representative democracy, they would chose multiple people from a large group to represent a group.
  • In Direct Democracy, you chose one person or a few to represent a group.
  • Direct Democracy is a form of democracy in which people decide or vote on, policy proposals directly.
  • Now what is Direct and Representative Democracy?
  • Representative Democracy is a type of democracy where there are a number of elected officials representing a group of people.
  • Direct Democracy started around 500 BC.
  • When did these Democracies start?
  • Representative Democracy had started about 508 BC.
  • Direct and Representative Democracy were both started in Ancient Greece, Athens.
  • Where did Direct and Representative begin?
  • Yes exactly.
  • And why did they start Direct and Representative Democracy?
  • We'll say this together. They started Direct D because it was really an experiment. This experiment went on for many years. They started Representative D because of Direct D. Once they stopped Direct D, they moved on to Representative D. It is different but has some similarities. For example, in both, citizens could participate in the voting and decision making.
