1776-The Declaration of Independence was declared to separate the colonies from Britian's control.
1777- To unite the Colonies, representatives of the 13 colonies drafted the Articles of confederation to bring the colonies together
The Articles of Confederation decidedly did not have enough power within the state, meetings were held to change and revise this.
1786: The breaking point happened when farmers in MA, started Shea's Rebellion, this led people to believe that more central government strength is needed
Create a more perfect Union: Constitution Convention created a new government through calm meetings with politicians. Wrote the US Constitution
Delegates added the Bill of Rights to limit the power of the central government, protects the people by giving them basic citizen rights.
