  • Who did it hold?
  • When was the camp built?

  • Auschwitz is a concentration camp run by German Nazi and a extermination/labor camp.
  • What were the number of people deported?
  • The Jews were held in concentration camps and forced to do labor. 
  • How were the Jews at the camp killed?
  • The construction began in April 1940.  It was used from 1940 to 1945.
  • Where were the bodies put?
  • Approximately 1.3 million people were sent to Auschwitz, though we do not have exact data of how many were.  
  • There were a group of people from the total who were just killed while the others did hard labor and work. The Jews were killed by gas chambers. 
  • The bodies were put into dug up pits and stacked on top of each other. There were so many bodies that to make space they late dug them up to make them into ash to have the space.
