Winston grabbed the door knob: "[h]e drew in his breath and opened the door" (Orwell 20).
Thankfully, it was Mrs. Parsons who was knocking at his door. Winston goes to Mrs. Parsons flat to attempt to repair her sink.
Comrade, can you check my sink out? It's blocked up.
After Winston removed the clot in Mrs. Parson's sink, her children entered the room and were discontent.
They're upset because I was unable to take the to the hanging.
We want to see the hanging!
Winston returns back to his flat and goes back to writing in his diary.
Winston's telescreen went off and as always, he kept his back turned towards it.
After the telescreen turns off, Winston begins writing again. He wrote every thought he had about Big Brother. He then attempts to hide his diary and wash his ink-stained hands to attempt to hide evidence.
