No more trade with other countries. Ships shall stay in port, with no one entering or leaving
We lost our jobs...
Great Britain and France impress many American ships, and sailors to help them fight in their war.
Oh no, we are losing benefits from this.
Thomas Jefferson therefore passes Embargo Act which restricts trade with other countries.
The act is now repealed, we are free to trade with other countries.
As a result of this act, 55,000 sailors lost there jobs, further hurting the American economy
Jefferson Realizes the effects of the Embargo act, in which America didn't benefit from act, but lost many things, and the economy suffered.
Congress Repeals the Embargo Act, further letting the US trade with other countries
Great Britain, and France continue attacking US ships
