This storyboard does not have a description.
"Antonio Cruz and Felix Vargas were both 17 years old. They were so together in friendship that they felt themselves to be brothers."
"Now, after a series of elimination bouts, they had been informed that they were to meet each other in the division finals that were scheduled for the seventh of August, two weeks away—the winner to represent the Boys Club in the Golden Gloves Championship Tournament."
A Better Relationship
"The announcer turned to point to the winner and found himself alone. Arm in arm the champions had already left the ring."
Friendship relates to this story because Antonio and Felix have been close most of their lives and they consier themselves as brothers to each other. They have each other's backs and they think positively about life. Friendship is very important in this story.
The author illustrates the inital conflict by choosing one or the other to represent the Boys Club in the Golden Gloves Championship Tournament. They sacrifice they're entire purpose of participation. Antonio and Felix did not want to hurt one another so they sacrifced the Championship.
In the end, the relationship between Antonio and Felix is stronger and greater because of the fact that they didn't let a boxing title come between their friendship. They sacrificed it to spare each others feelings and walked arm in arm away. That's a prime example of a better friendship.
