  • Hey Bob, wanna go to this party tonight?
  • No, I don't think it's such a good idea. I'll stay home.
  • Oh come on are you chicken? Bok Bok!
  • No, I don't want to go to a party full of people drinking.
  • And we're too young to drink so we'd he breaking the law.
  • It's never a good idea to drink alcohol at a young age, but Bob's friends, Steve and Joe want him to. What will Bob do?
  • Well we're going!
  • Why don't we just watch a movie instead of going to a lame party?
  • He could use the S.T.O.P. acronym to refuse. The S means Say no. Saying no in an assertive tone and using good body language makes you look like you mean business. .
  • I wanna see SUPER ACTION KUNG FU ROBOTS 5!!!
  • C'mon let's go!
  • The T in S.T.O.P. means telly why. Having reasons makes the person pressuring you think twice about the risk behavior the want you to do.
  • I wish I went to see that movie.
  • The O in S.T.O.P. means offer other ideas. Like going to the movies or playing video games instead of engaging in risk behaviors.
  • The P in S.T.O.P means promptly leave. If the other things aren't working, or if you don't feel comfortable, you can just leave.
  • Drinking underage is against the law and you can go to jail for it. If there are many minors drinking at a party, everybody there can be arrested.
