Melody is a disabled girl who has cerebral palsy. She goes to school every day in a wheelchair. This book takes place in between 2011 and 2012.
Melody can't move her body(except her hands) and cannot speak. She is very smart but cannot show it. They treat her like a baby. They register her in inclusion classes in the school where she learns with other normal students.
There is a quiz team tryout and Melody takes the test. The other students think she's stupid but Melody aces the test. They all are shocked but accept her and their team gets to go to D.C.
The day of the flight, the team gets to the airport early without Melody and take an earlier flight. Melody's flight gets cancelled and Melody is left behind.

Later that week, her sister gets hit by a car and has to go to the hospital. She is devastated from both events and stays home upset for a while. When the team comes back, she goes to school to face them. They say they're sorry but Melody doesn't even care.
Melody finally realizes that there are more things she should worry about than not being normal and thinks of herself has an ordinary kid. The End!
