He did not have enough money so he put a orange and a nickel on the counter and the lady knew what he wnated to do so she took it and they went out and they held hands and she ate her chocolate and e ate is orange.
Connotation - "A few cars hissing passed, Fog hanging like old Coats between the trees." "Frost cracking beneath me, my breath before me then gone."
Attitude - The attitude of the poem is very sweet because they are in the store and he is buying her some chocolate and they are coming together.
