Storyboard Text

  • Sir Meriwether Lewis... may I ask you and Clark to please explore our new piece of land for us?
  • I will gather as many as I can so we can explore the new land we have just purchased.
  • Thomas Jefferson had just struck a deal and purchased the Louisiana Purchase, 827,000  square miles of land west of the Mississippi  for $15 million in 1803.
  • Sir William Clark, I am greatly sorry I had awoken you but we have an exploration mission from Sir Jefferson.
  • You are forgiven. And yes, I will help you lead our way through our new purchased land. We shall gather some townsmen and get our plans prepared.
  • On May 14th, 1804, Lewis and Clark leave on their way to explore the land they were requested to explore, 827,000 square miles of land.
  • My fellow townsmen! We are prepared to leave and start our adventure across our new, unknown land.
  • This discovery will bring us one of the major waterways for trade and paychecks.
  • Look at this! Mississippi River has been found! We have found our water passage. We need to now find the Pacific Ocean. Jefferson will be very proud of us. We shall find the Pacific Ocean, then head back.
  • Through out their trip they met Sacagawea, a Native American who had greatly helped Lewis and Clark through their expedition. Also, this helped support the trading with animal furs for hunters and trappers.
  • Yes! I do know my way to the Pacific Ocean!
  • We are looking for the Pacific Ocean and would love to meet the people who live off this land. By any chance, could you help us?
  • Thank you guys for your courage. Our country greatly appreciates your guys's effort.
  • When Lewis and Clark have returned form their exploration on September 23rd, 1806. They both were received payment for their courageous. They are later to be known as the Corps of Discovery.
  • Oh thank you all so much! We are honored to receive your respect.
