Juliet meets with Friar Lawrence to ask for help before threatening to kill herself since she doesn't want to marry Paris. Lawrence agrees to help Juliet and devises a plan. The plan is for Juliet to say she's going to marry Paris but then before the wedding, drink a sleeping potion to make her appear dead. After Juliet has been buried, Romeo and Frair Lawrence will come rescue her.
"If in thy wisdom thou canst give me no help, do thou but call my resolution wise, and with this knife I'll help it presently"
"Ay, marry, go, I say, and fetch him hither. - Now, afore God, this reverend holy frair, all our city is much bound to him."
Juliet goes home and announces to her parents that she will marry Paris. They are very excited and move the wedding day up to the very next day.
Juliet goes to her room and asks to be left alone. She goes back and forth between drinking and not drinking the potion. Juliet is scared the plan won't go as planned and in the midst of fear sees a vision of Tybalt's ghost looking for Romeo. She finally drinks the potion.
