Storyboard Text

  • When Jenny left me, I decided to run. For no reason. I ran to the end of the road . Then, when I got there I thought maybe i'll got to the end of town. When I got there, I thought I'll run across Alabama. So, for no reason, I kept running across the country again and again.
  • One sunny Monday, a guy called Forrest was sitting at a bus stop next to an old lady. They were talking.
  • Forrest was remenbering those moments. He seemed wistful. His eyes were shining like those of a child.
  • The old lady's bus was arriving at the bus stop. She saw it but stayed with Forrest rather than take her bus to go home.
  • And so, you just ran?
  • Yeah !
  • When I got tired, I slept. When I got hungry, I ate . and when I had to go... You know... I went.
  • Yes, but what I did seemed to make sense for people. So, I got company, more company and even more company. Somebody later told me that I engaged hope, I don't understand how.
  • I think that they couldn't believe that you were running for no particular reason.
  • I thought a lot ; about mommy, Bubba my best friend and first of all Jenny, my love. American TV filmed me on the run, it was weird. I was just running, nothing special ! A lot of pepople were asking me why I ran : was it for peace, homelessness, animals ?
  • Yes! I know those autocollants !
  • Once, a guy came at me, asking for a slogan to inspire people. I didn't know what to say : I'm not Gandhi ! He told me that I walked on a piece of poop and I said that it happens. I heard that he made a lot of money with an autocollant for cars with ''it happens'' written on it.
  • Anyway, I had a lot of company. I ran for 3 years, 2 months, 14 days and 16 hours. I stopped running because I was really tired. I wanted to go home. Just like that my running days was over
  • Well, this was a hard run.
  • Yeah.
