  • The American Liberty League was a political organization formed in 1934. It was made up of wealthy business elites and important political leaders. They opposed the New Deal of Franklin D. Roosevelt
  • 1) The constitution can be modified only by the way it allows for written in the constitution. 2) If american people wanted to change the democratic ways of the government then they had to add on an amendment 3. The american liberty leagues thinks the new deal (proposed by FDR) was unconstitutional
  • They believed it made government too powerful. The American Liberty League opposed New Deal because they believed it violated respect for the rights of individuals and property.
