Storyboard Text

  • Election of 1828
  • Spoils System
  • You're all fired!
  • Worcester v. Georgia
  • The election of 1828 included Andrew Jackson and John Q. Adams. Jackson wanted the smaller states to have more power in government decisions.
  • Indian Removal Act
  • The spoils system was a system where the President fired the people of the senate to place people in who liked them. I would probably do it too depending on who was already working there.
  • The Trail of Tears
  • Worcester Vs. Georgia was a Supreme Court Case which Georgia convicted Samuel Worcester for being a non-Native American on Native American land. Samuel argued that Georgia had no right to arrest him because they could not make laws on land that was not theirs.
  • Jackson was the first president to be the target of attempted assination.
  • Get back here!
  • The Indian Removal act was an act that kicked all of the Cherokee out of Georgia. The Act was passed because the people of Georgia found gold dust in the dirt and were going to go to war with the Cherokee.
  • The Trial the Cherokee walked on the get to Oklahoma. Many of the Cherokee died from this.
  • As Jackson was leaving the white house, Richard Lawrence fired a pistol at him. It was a misfire, so he fired again. It was another misfire, and then Jackson charged him with his cane.
  • Bad idea! Bad idea!
