  • Clay, Jackson, Adams, and Crawford ran for president in the election of 1824. None of the candidates had enough votes to win.
  • The Corrupt Bargain
  • This is outrageous and corrupt.
  • The House of Representatives vote for the president because of the four-way tie.
  • The Election of 1828
  • Adams and Clay made a deal and said, if Clay promoted Adams, Adams would promote Clay to Secretary of State. With this bargain, Adams won the election.
  • Jackson accuses Adam and Henry of a corrupt bargain.
  • Adams and Jackson run against each other and Jackson wins.
  • Jackson wins because of his values. Many commoners support him and his views.
