  • The setting of the story is a rainy day somewhere in England at the White's home. The characters in the story are Mr. & Mrs. White, Herbert, and Morris. Morris arrives at the White's home. Then, Morris presents the monkeys paw and explains how it works. He tells them about the monkeys powers.
  • Climax
  • The conflict of the story is that characters do not know if they should wish or not wish on the monkey paw. Morris says that they should not make a wish with the monkey paw. The White's might wish because they need 200 pounds.
  • Falling Action
  • Morris came and presented the paw to the White's. He tells them it grants wishes. Morris says not to wish on the paw. Morris tries to destroy the paw. The White's wish for 200 pounds. Herbert goes to work the next day. A man in a buisness suit shows up.
  • Resolution
  • The businessman tells the White's that Herbet died at work. Herbert's job gives the White's 200 pounds in return of his death. The first wish the White's wished for was 200 pounds.
  • Mrs. White wishes for her son back. There is a knock on the door. Mr. White doesn't want Mrs. white to answer the door. Mr. White wishes Herbert gone. Mrs. White answers the door.
  • Mr. & Mrs. White go outside. The conclusion suggests it was Herbert at the door.
