I am exposed to the plague every day as I assist in burials and give dying people their last rites. This means I am in a very dangerous situation and could be infected any minute.
Is it difficult to seek treatment for the plague as a peasant?
Yes, we struggle to receive treatment because we are unable to afford the treatment.
We were accused because we didn't follow the Christian religion. We became scapegoats for the plague and were blamed for poisoning the wells which people believed was the source of the infection.
Why are the Jews accused of contaminating the water which then was believed to start the plague?
