  • Hi guys! My name is Harry and today we are going to learn about ingredients, how to measure them and equipment! We are going to do this by making cookies!
  • First, we are going to preheat our convectional ovens to 350 degrees. Then we are going to cream together margarine, brown sugar and granulated sugars together with a mixer. 
  • The margarine is packed into a dry measuring cup (DMC),leveled and removed with a rubber scrapper. This will add tenderness to our cookies. Granulated sugar is scooped into a DMC and brown sugar is packed. Both add flavor and aid in browning. The mixer will then combine all these ingredients. 
  • Next we are going to add in our egg, vanilla, baking soda and salt. The vanilla and salt will add flavor, egg will act as a binding agent and the baking soda is a leavening agent. Vanilla is measured with a measuring spoon, so are salt and baking soda, but those you scoop and level. 
  • Next you are going to stir in the flour so it doesn't over mix, and this will provided structure to our cookies. Flour is measured by spooning it into a DMC and leavening it. After we add in our chocolate chips for flavor, which are scooped into a DMC. 
  • Finally we are going to place them onto a cookie sheet and place then in a conventional oven which will have an even air flow for our cookies. Enjoy !!
