Collaboration in the 21st Century Classroom Brett Belton
Collaboration is becoming different.
People once collaborated face to face. Because of technology we can now collaborate digitally
Tools like wikis and blogs allow me as a history teacher to let student do digital Project Based Learning. For example, I can create a jigsaw activity in which I assign groups specific aspects of World War II
Each group can use a wiki page to collaborate with each other on their aspect of WWII. After that they can share the knowledge they've acquired with other groups
Collaboration is just one of the 4 C's that can be enhanced via 21st century technology. On top of helping students acquire 4 C's type skills, one can teach regular content via technology (like WWII).
