Martin Luther was born in 1483 in Eisleben, Germany, to Margaret and Hans Luther.

Martin started school when he was only four and a half years old. He did very well in school and earned many degrees.
I will not recant!
Martin joined the Augustinian Order of hermits in 1505. He became a monk, then priest.
Luther preached against indulgences. He wrote a list of objections to indulgences, called the Ninety-five Theses, and he posted it on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg.
Luther was charged with heresy and ordered to recant. He would not and was excommunicated.
Martin Luther had tremendous courage and headed the Reformation of the Church that changed the world.
