Hey guys I'm randy redox from the intergalactic police of redox reactions. I am here because there are three evil redox reactions that have invaded your planet and we must stop them
The three equations are located near here and we must stop them. The equations are 1.) 2Na + 2Cl -> 2Nacl 2.) Pb(No3)2 + 2Nacl-> PbCl2 + 2NaNO3 3.) 2Pbs + 3O2 -> 2Pbo + 2S02
The first equation were up against is 2Na+Cl->NaCl In order to defeat this equation we must identify What is being Oxidized and reduced and the agents that cause this. If we do this we will send the problems back to space
In this equation The Na goes from a zero charge to a positive one charge so it is being oxizided therefor 2Na is the reducing agent. The Cl aslo goes from a zero charge to a negative one charge so this element is being reduced making the Cl2 the Oxidizing agent. Now that we have defeated this equation its time to get the next one.
The next equation were up against is Pb(No3)2 + 2Nacl-> PbCl2 + 2NaNO3 This equation shows no change in charge between all the elements so this is not a redox equation. So in order to send him back to space we must defeat the final equation.
The final equation were up against is 2PbS +3O2 -> 2PbO + 2SO2. This is the leader of the redox reactions so thus problem will be a little more difficult. The sulfur in this equation begins at a negative 2 charge changes to a positive 4 charge. Making this element oxidized as it charges goes up which means the reducing agent is PbS. The O2 in this equation no charge since its on its own then it becomes reduced once it bonds and gains a negative 2 charge making the 3O2 the oxidizing agent. thanks to your help we were able to stop the redox equations and your planet
