  • Louise has bad heart problems. I cannot be the one to break the news to her.
  • Yes. I sent out another telegram to confirm.
  • Rising Action
  • We're very sorry to break it to you.
  • Your husband has passed in a tragic railway accident, Louise.
  • Climax
  • Free! Body and soul free!
  • Josephine, Louise Mallards sister, and Brently Mallards friend, Richards, arrived at the house of the Mallards to break the news to Louise about the passing of her husband, Brently.
  • Falling Action
  • I think this will be okay, Josephi-- *gasp*
  • Brently?
  • Knowing that Mrs. Mallard was afflicted with a heart trouble, great care was taken to break to her as gently as possible the news of her husband's death. Louise was shocked, she didn't realize the significance.
  • Resolution
  • I'm so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Mallard passed from heart disease. Must've been overjoyed to see you, Brently.
  • Once in her room, she heard wonderful sounds and saw great things outside her window. She felt possessed, and overcome with the joy of being free at last. Although she loved him, it wasn't always good, and she felt great to be free again.
  • Hello everyone. Why so surprised?
  • On their way down, they heard someone use a key to get into the house. It was Mr. Brently Mallard. He was unharmed, and had no idea the accident happened until this moment.
  • Louise felt uneasy, and the shock of her husband being alive, along with her troubling heart problems, resulted in her having a heart attack, and the doctor said she passed from heart disease. Whether she was shocked because she was happy or sad, only she knows
